Can the Florida courts include my new spouse's income when setting child support?

I'm often asked whether or not my new spouse's income would be included when calculating child support from a child not part of the current relationship. The answer is no. The courts will not consider your new spouse's income. There have been times when the courts will consider income of a spouse only if it is intentionally reducing down your ability to earn. Then the court does have an ability to impute some type of income to you, but not necessarily your current spouse's grade of pay.
